“Ode to Odetta” is Samantha’s poetic tribute to the folk legend. This poem was created with children in mind, and was published as the text for a picture book about Odettas early life. Tribute to Odetta: Queen of Folk was published by Scholastic Press, in 2010. Samantha has performed this poem globally for audiences of all ages, sometimes collaborating with musicians such as: Quetzal Guerrero, Valerie June, Mimi Jones, and a South African saxophonist, Karabo.
